Different cultures associate different meanings and values to certain colours and symbols. Symbols are often used as metaphors, which help people to connect familiar concepts or ideas with unfamiliar concepts. Colour influences people's perception because it is connected with the roots of culture. For example, white in most Western cultures symbolises purity or peace, but in other cultures it is related to mourning and sadness… and naturely these cultural values influence preferences and everyday life. Each culture places a different value on different design elements, just as it does for all other aspects of its society. The contents are assimilated in different ways due to these different cultural perspectives. To design events, we consider all these aspects and every day we extend our knowledge of different cultures and traditions.
